Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of images can be extracted?
The tool extracts raster images embedded in the PDF, such as photos and scanned pages. Text, shapes, charts drawn as vectors, and images that are only part of a page background may not be extracted.
Will the images keep their original quality?
Images are decoded from the PDF and saved as PNG at their stored pixel dimensions. PNG avoids extra JPEG compression, but the file may be larger than the original image. The PDF itself is never changed.
Why are some images missing?
Some PDFs build images from many small pieces, use vector graphics, or place images inside patterns. Those are not always available as standalone images. Try scanning all pages and check the page range if an image is missing.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and scanned inside your browser, and the downloaded images are created on your device. Your file never leaves your computer.
