Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read and converted inside your browser, and the Markdown file is created on your device. Nothing is sent to PDFHelix or to any third party.
Does the Markdown keep the original formatting?
Only approximately. Headings are detected from font size and paragraphs from line spacing, but columns, tables, images and exact alignment are not reproduced. Review the result before publishing it.
The result is empty. Why?
The PDF probably contains scanned images without a text layer. Run it through OCR first, then convert the OCR output with this tool.
