Frequently Asked Questions
What does flattening a PDF do?
Flattening draws each form field's current appearance into the page and removes the interactive field. The values stay visible, but they can no longer be edited. Other page content is not changed.
Will my filled values remain visible?
Yes, when the PDF stores field appearances, which most filled forms do. If a field has no stored appearance, some viewers may show it differently. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Does it flatten comments and annotations?
This tool flattens AcroForm fields only. Comments, links, stamps and other annotations are left as they are, so you can still review them in a PDF viewer.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened, flattened and saved inside your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
